Harvey Lewis

Harvey is a director at Deloitte in the UK and leads cognitive computing for the technology consulting practice.

Harvey has a background in aeronautics and astronautics, and over the last 25 years has successfully blended the academic rigour of ‘rocket science’ with the emerging field of ‘data science’ through data and analytics projects in financial services, public sector, technology, retail and national security. 

He is a former member of the UK’s Public Sector Transparency Board (2014-2015), chaired by the Rt Hon Francis Maude MP, which was responsible for overseeing the UK government’s open data agenda.

He was a member of the UK’s Open Data User Group, 2013-2014, and worked with the UK’s Open Data Institute from its inception in 2011 to 2013 as it transitioned from launch to steady-state.

He has authored and contributed to numerous Deloitte reports and papers and he has also published several articles and blogs on the subject of open data in Economia, Computer Weekly, TechCityNews and for TechUK, the Open Government Partnership and Efficiency Exchange.

Harvey lives in Hampshire with his wife and two young sons.
