Play it as it lies: the separation of compute and storage driving analytics in the cloud

How fast are data and analytic workloads moving to the cloud? This is a question that 451 Research is asked on a regular basis. There is no simple answer. We have previously noted that database and analytic workloads are not being migrated to the cloud at a rapid rate. However, as a growing volume of data is originated and stored in the cloud, there are an increasing number of options for enterprises to analyze that data where it resides without the need for on-premises server infrastructure.
